Для праці

• Дуже потрібно створення RSS-потоку. Хто може створити, будь ласка.

Час на головній сторінці

Є пропозиція додавати біля заголовку новини час її створення. Питання №1: потрібно це чи ні? Питання №2: якщо потрібно, то в якому вигляді. Моя пропозиція така:

ВікіНовини:Про нас

Невірно виводиться загальна кількість новин...

Я це помітив, але особисто нічого не можу зробити. Творців Вікі було повідомлено ще у понеділок, але вони ще не відповили. --Inetd 16:09, 24 бер 2005 (UTC)

Напрямки роботи

Щоб оптимізувати процес роботи ВікіНовин пропоную розділити напрямки праці між постійними дописувачами ВікіНовин.

Напрямки

• Категоризація
• Перевірка новин в іншомовних ВікіНовинах та додавання посилань на них у відповідних статтях ВікіНовин
• Перевірка правильності посилань до Вікіпедії у новинах
• Додавання фотографій у новини

Також, на мій погляд, потрібно розподілити тематики новин. Додавайти свої підписи у ту категорію, в якій бажаєте працювати. Дякую! --Inetd 21:22, 24 бер 2005 (UTC)

Посилання на Останні надходження актів КМУ

Під час створення сторінки виникла потреба додати посилання на постанову (Постанова від 22.11.2010 № 1068), яку видно на сторінці http://www.kmu.gov.ua/control/newsnpd . Хто знає, як це зробити прохання допомогти (на сайті вона відкривається за допомогою скрипту). З повагою, Swinemaker 17:23, 26 листопада 2010 (UTC)

Шаблон новини

Є пропозиція модифікувати функцію "додати новину" так, щоб при створенні нової сторінки автоматично завантажувався певний шаблон (preload), наприклад, ось так.
А взагалі, добре було б зробити щось накшталт форми для завантаження файлу на Вікісховище - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload

Мені здається, що існуюча система добре працює. У підрозділі додати новину дуже багато реклами і новин, які не варто публікувати. Так вони знаходяться на одній сторінці і якщо там щось є варте уваги, можна передрукувати. З новою системою у разі реклами треба буде видаляти статті, а робити це може тільки адміністратор. До того ж, на ВікіНовинах активність зараз дуже низька, це нововведення відчутного впливу не матиме. --Гриць 07:08, 30 листопада 2010 (UTC)

Так, реклами наразі накопичилося багато. Доречі, там зібралося вже три сторінки з архівами - що з ними робити - неясно. Я вчора намагався почистити трохи цю сторінку, додав останні новини, як статті ((1), (2)), натомість утворився новий "смітник" - ВікіНовини:Додати_новину/Архів-03. P.S. Поясніть, будь-ласка, що потрібно робити з розділами даної сторінки, які вже створені, як окремі статті? Треба їх просто видаляти, чи додавати у "архів"?--Swinemaker 15:24, 30 листопада 2010 (UTC)

Call for image filter referendum

The Wikimedia Foundation, at the direction of the Board of Trustees, will be holding a vote to determine whether members of the community support the creation and usage of an opt-in personal image filter, which would allow readers to voluntarily screen particular types of images strictly for their own account.

Further details and educational materials will be available shortly. The referendum is scheduled for 12-27 August, 2011, and will be conducted on servers hosted by a neutral third party. Accreditation and Google News listings

First-off, please forgive my posting in English. I am, as is all-too-common for people from the UK, linguistically challenged.

I want to raise two issues, as-noted in the subject title of this thread: Reporter Accreditation and listing in Google News.

First up, accreditation has worked rather well for Wikinewsies on the English-language version of the project. Personally, I've been given press access to a number of events, other examples may well be reporters getting behind police lines or landing interviews with major political figures.

I have on the English-language version of the project with a view to looking into more than just one project being listed by Google, and other language versions capitalising on accreditation. Please take the time to register any interest in this, the drawbacks from local legal situations, and how we all might better promote Wikinews as a project. --Brian McNeil 12:49, 20 грудня 2011 (UTC)

Announcing Wikipedia 1.19 beta

Wikimedia Foundation is getting ready to push out 1.19 to all the WMF-hosted wikis. As we finish wrapping up our code review, you can test the new version right now on beta.wmflabs.org. For more information, please read the release notes or the start of the final announcement.

The following are the areas that you will probably be most interested in:

• Faster loading of javascript files makes dependency tracking more important.
• New common*.css files usable by skins instead of having to copy piles of generic styles from MonoBook or Vector's css.
• The default user signature now contains a talk link in addition to the user link.
• Searching blocked usernames in block log is now clearer.
• Better timezone recognition in user preferences.
• Improved diff readability for colorblind people.
• The interwiki links table can now be accessed also when the interwiki cache is used (used in the API and the Interwiki extension).
• More gender support (for instance in logs and user lists).
• Language converter improved, e.g. it now works depending on the page content language.
• Time and number-formatting magic words also now depend on the page content language.
• Bidirectional support further improved after 1.18.

Report any problems on the labs beta wiki and we'll work to address them before they software is released to the production wikis.
